FTC Team 35806
We are a FIRST Tech Challenge team dedicated to inspiring the next generation of innovators through competitive robotics, STEM education, and community outreach.
Rock Robotics is a FIRST Tech Challenge team based on a passion for engineering, innovation, and making an impact. Our team brings together students with diverse skills and interests united by a shared goal: to learn, compete, and give back.
Through FIRST, we develop real-world engineering skills, learn gracious professionalism, and work to inspire others in our community to pursue STEM.
Hands-on design and build
Collaboration above all
Creative problem solving
Community impact
FIRST Tech Challenge is a robotics competition for students in grades 7-12 where teams design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge.
Teams design and build robots using a reusable platform, created with professional-grade materials. Robots are built to perform specific tasks in an annual game challenge.
Students learn Java or Blocks-based programming to control robots autonomously and via driver-controlled operation during competition matches.
Teams compete in qualifier tournaments, league meets, and championship events. Awards recognize excellence in design, programming, outreach, and more.
Teams document their entire design process in an engineering notebook, demonstrating their journey from concept to competition-ready robot.
FIRST teams are encouraged to give back to their communities through STEM education, mentoring younger teams, and public demonstrations.
A core FIRST value: competing fiercely while treating everyone with respect. Winning and losing gracefully while helping others succeed.
The 2024-2025 FTC season, INTO THE DEEP presented by RTX, challenges teams to score samples and specimens in underwater-themed zones. Teams must strategize between autonomous and driver-controlled periods to maximize their score.
These values guide everything we do as a FIRST team.
We explore new skills and ideas.
We use creativity and persistence to solve problems.
We apply what we learn to improve our world.
We respect each other and embrace our differences.
We are stronger when we work together.
We enjoy and celebrate what we do.
